Jonas Eika is a Danish author who was awarded the 2019 Nordic Council Literature Prize for his short story collection After the Sun.

Jonas Eika is a young writer in utter command of his craft who grabs hold of the reader with tender fury. He made his debut in 2015 with the novel Marie House Warehouse (Lageret Huset Marie), which was awarded the Bodil og Jørgen Munch-Christensen’s Prize for emerging Danish writers in 2016.

Eika made a major splash when he was awarded the prestigious 2019 Nordic Council Literature Prize for his short story collection After the Sun (Efter Solen) and his divisive acceptance speech went viral.

Jonas Eika made his debut in 2015 with the novel Marie House Warehouse (Lageret Huset Marie), which was awarded the Bodil og Jørgen Munch-Christensen’s Prize for emerging Danish writers in 2016.

In 2018 his collection After the Sun (Efter Solen) was published. In October 2019 Eika took the literary world by surprise when he was awarded the prestigious Nordic Council Literature Prize for After the Sun and his divisive acceptance speech went viral.
