The Man Without a Heart

Friends and colleagues Siri and Aina have parted ways after a great betrayal; they’re no longer on speaking terms and the psychologist practice they used to share is no more. Siri has just been offered a job with the police criminal profiling department. Her relationship with Markus is faltering and she begins to feel attracted to one of her colleagues.

Siri finds herself drawn into the middle of a murder investigation as soon as she begins her new job. Antiques dealer and media profile Jussi Ståhl has been shot to death in his Stockholm apartment, where his boyfriend Miguel Alemany found him. As if shooting Jussi was not enough, the killer had carved out the heart of the victim’s dead body and placed it in an antique silver bowl.

At first, the police believe the killing is a random act of madness, but as more people turn up dead in connection to the murder, it is clear that they have a much larger and more complex case on their hands. The victims all have one thing in common: their sexual orientation. But is there something more connecting them, something in the victims’ pasts that can explain the cruelty they are subjected to?

The Man Without a Heart is the fourth book in the popular series about psychologist Siri Bergman, and yet another tight thriller from celebrated author duo Grebe and Träff.

“Grebe and Träff are among the best from the new generation of Swedish crime writers. Once more they prove to be an author duo to be counted on. The Man Without a Heart is just as good as the previous books in the series – a well-written thriller that is simply hard to put down.”
