Mattias Edvardsson’s bestselling suspense novel A Nearly Normal Family (Original title: En helt vanlig familj) is currently in production to become a major Netflix Original Series, set to premiere globally in 2023.

Edvardsson, who will also serve as an Executive Producer on the series, comments in a press release from Netflix:

“I’m overwhelmed! It is a dream come true to see my book come to life as a Netflix series. The script is very strong and Per Hanefjord is a fantastic director who’s passionate about the story. It has been important to me that it is filmed in Lund, where the book takes place. I also hope that some of the young, incredibly talented actors will get their breakthrough in this series”.

At the helm of the ambitious production is director Per Hanefjord (Hamilton, The Hidden Child) alongside screenwriters Anna Platt (The Congregation, The Truth will out) and Hans Jörnlind (Top Dog, The Truth will out). In the leading roles are Alexandra Karlsson Tyrefors (marking her acting debut) Lo Kauppi (Modus, Real Humans) and Björn Bengtsson (The Last Kingdom, Lust). The series is produced by Jarowskij.
